Denise & Newbold survive conditions to take trophy

bigpicThe annual Royal Jersey Mixed invitation Greensomes for the McInnes Trophy was played earlier today in what can only be described as brutal conditions. Whilst there was no rain and the sun shone the wind was blowing a Force 6 -7!
Scores were understandably low and it was a survival exercise! The couple that coped the best was Denise Campbell and her guest, Peter Newbold with 32 stableford points. A fantastic 18 points on the back nine helped secure the trophy.
Runner’s up with 31 points was the Lady Captain, Louise Hill with Nick Lee. Third place was Club Manager Darren Attwood and Christine Burlace with 30 points on count back.
A total of 34 couples braved the conditions and enjoyed dinner in the clubhouse after the event.
