Past Captain Ted Le Gresley won the Alsford Salver with 37 stableford points yesterday morning in challenging conditions. The event's format was changed from the traditional 'tombstone' to a stableford owing to the strong winds making conditions so difficult. Runner-up was Geoff Le Vesconte with 35 points and Robbie Messervy was third with 33 points.

The competition follows the Gentlemen's Annual Dinner, and pictured with the winner and Club Captain, Mike Hill, is guest speaker Iain Carter, the BBC Golf correspondent who entertained the attendees with humorous stories of life 'inside the ropes' and a Q&A session.
