The annual Royal Jersey Ladies Open Day took place yesterday with 125 ladies taking part from Jersey & Guernsey. In benign conditions Liz Purgal (Royal Jersey) took home the Benest Trophy with 38 stableford points. Liz began with two straight pars (nett birdies) and turned with 21 points. Her back nine included two pars at the tough back-to-back par 3's at 15 and 16. Liz gas reduced her handicap from 24 to 22 as a result. Liz is on a roll as she won last week's Bryon Trophy foursomes, with partner Paula Allbut!

Runner-up with 37 points was 12 year old, Royal Jersey member Anabelle Lucas-Villar. Her back nine score of 21 points included two nett eagles at the 10th and 13th holes. Anabelle's handicap was also reduced by two shots from 25 to 23.

Third place overall was Lynne Cottignies (RJGC) also with 37 points but losing on a count back with Karen Le Cornu (RJGC) in fourth also on the same score.

The highest placed visitor was St Clement's Golf Club's Kay Le Quesne also on 37 points.

A prize giving took place in the evening where a large number prizes were presented.
