On Tuesday May 16th, the ladies welcomed 24 silver ‘B’ and bronze players from La Moye to contest both the Langly – Smith and Bronze Cups. The format was 4BBB with an 8.30 shotgun start for the 48 players. The idea to hold both competitions simultaneously was a new initiative from the Lady Captain to reduce pressure on the course and the same format will be used in September at La Moye for the Jane Rogers and June Saunders trophies.
All matches were played in excellent spirit with many going to the 17th and 18th holes. The silver ‘B’ retained the Langly -Smith trophy by 4 ½ points to 1 ½ , but the bronze division, despite battling hard, suffered a 5 – 1 defeat. Congratulations to La Moye on an excellent result away from home!
A sociable lunch was enjoyed by all, and we are very grateful to everyone from the club who contributed to the success of the fixture – Deirdre and Mark in the office, the Bar and Kitchen staff ably led by Bart, the green keepers, and our ranger George. Many thanks to all.
