Phill Evans has continued his good form this season, having made the cut in the Irish senior open earlier in the month he last week finished a creditable T27 in a very strong field shotting 74, 74, 76. Phill then moved on to Aberdovey to compete in the Welsh Senior Closed were 196 of the best welsh golfers entered, some would say it was the stongest feild Wales has had for many a year with ex Walker cup players entered and no less than 9 full welsh internationals in the feild.

Phill shot an opening round of 74 followed by a 77 to qualify in 15th place at the cut. The final round of 71 was the best score of the day by 4 shots and moved Phill through the field to finish in 2nd place overall.
