Junior Section

Royal Jersey has an active junior section of about 75 boys and girls.

Due to high demand, entry into the section is currently limited to the children and grandchildren of existing members. Children with a golfing background and who have exceptional potential are also considered.

The usual route into junior membership is via the Club’s ‘Rookies’ programme, which runs on Friday evenings in the summer. ‘Rookies’ is run by the RJ Pros and includes clinics, on-course coaching and fun competitions. Members wishing to enrol their children should contact the RJ Pro Shop for an application form.

Junior competitions are held throughout the year, generally on Sundays and in school holidays. The highlight of the calendar is the annual Junior Festival of Golf in late July comprising 4 rounds on 4 consecutive days on 4 different courses.

Our more experienced juniors are invited to take part in trips to the UK to compete in junior opens and county events. We also enter a team in the Hampshire inter-club knockout each year.

Our Club Safeguarding policies, for adults and juniors, can be viewed in the main office. For visitors a hard copy is also available in the main office. The Club Welfare Officer is Darren Attwood who can be contacted on 01534 854416.
